How do I apply for a free replacement car?

Most Australian drivers do not understand that they are legally entitled to a like for like free accident replacement vehicle whilst theirs is being repaired if they are not at fault.

To qualify for a “Not at Fault” accident replacement vehicle, drivers must be the not at-fault party in a motor vehicle collision with an at fault driver who is insured and you get the at fault drivers insurance details and a claim number.

If you lodge a claim through your insurer and your vehicle is written off you will only get 14 days coverage but if your vehicle is written off and you are claiming through the at-fault party’s insurer, you are entitled to keep the replacement vehicle until your claim is settled.
