Does the rental vehicle come with insurance or damage cover?

When do I pay for my rental?
Payment is to be made in full prior to collection of the vehicle for the estimated charges based on the advised rental duration. This amount is ‘estimated’ only as rental periods, vehicles usage and optional extras may be altered during the course of the rental. During peak periods and on specialty vehicle a non-refundable deposit may be requested at the time of the booking.
How can I pay?

Andy’s Auto Rentals accepts all major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, Amex and Diners. (Amex and Diners do attract a surcharge)

What is the cost of extra kilometres?
Extra kilometres are charged upon return of the vehicle – please contact the location you are returning to if you’d like to confirm your kilometre allowance and additional fee’s.

If you require higher kilometres than what is shown on the website, please contact us as we have special packages to help suit your needs. Unlimited km’s only apply to customers who are flying in and out of the Brisbane or Coolangatta Airports – not to residents of the area who wish to pick up from the airport and is only valid within a 250km radius of the airport you have flown into.

What if I have to cancel a booking is there a fee?
• Cancelled 8-24 days or more of collection – 20% of Gross Total
• Cancelled 2-7 days of collection – 50% of Gross Total
• Cancelled 24 hours or less or no show – 100% of Gross Total
Can I pick up from the Airport?
Andy’s Auto Rentals is an approved off-site location that services the Brisbane and Gold Coast Airports. This enables us to collect and drop you off via shuttle bus service. Some terms and conditions may apply – call our friendly office staff on 1300 132 708 with any questions.
Is there a bond required?
Yes, all rental companies require some sort of security bond when hiring a vehicle. At Andy’s we accept all major credit cards to debit the bond from.
Do you hire baby seats?
Yes, we can supply a full range of baby seats or booster seats for the duration of your rental. Please notify us early as possible in peak periods. T&C’s apply.
Can I get the vehicle delivered?
Yes, we will deliver free of charge. Some conditions apply – Please contact our office for more details.
Can I use another person’s credit card to hire a vehicle?
The credit card holder is listed as primary hirer regardless of if they will not be driving the vehicle and is liable for the vehicle. The credit card holder must sign the rental agreement. Please contact our office for details.
What should I do if I break down?
Your vehicle is covered by 24 hour Roadside Assistance. However if you experience issues please contact us on 1300 132 708 prior to calling the roadside assistance and we will advise an appropriate solution. Roadside assistance is provided to cover any mechanical failure concerning the vehicle. It does not cover non mechanical issues such as flat battery due to lights or accessories being left on, keys locked in the vehicle, lost keys and running out of petrol etc. Fees will apply for these call outs.
Can I tow a trailer?
Yes, we have a wide variety of tow vehicles. Please contact our office prior to booking so we can advise.
What is windscreen and tyre protection?
Windscreen and tyre protection can be purchased for an additional daily fee. If this option is purchased it will you give a zero cost to have any windscreen chip or crack repaired or replaced and covers tyre punctures, abrasions or cuts due to normal driving conditions. Please note this option is available on certain vehicle categories please contact our office for more information.
Can I collect a vehicle at one location and drop it at another?
Yes this is possible, subject to conditions and availability. Please contact our office to discuss arrangements with our staff. One way relocation fees may apply.
What do I need to bring with me when picking up the vehicle?
When picking up the vehicle at our office you need to have a valid drivers licence and credit card in the name of the main hirer of the vehicle. Payment arrangements can be made prior to collection of vehicles allowing additional drivers to collect the vehicle. Please contact us for further details.
What is the Airport Collection Surcharge?
Ther is no surcharge for customers arriving during our business hours, however afterhours arrivals and departures will incur a fee. Please contact our office for details.
Can I rent on a Learner licence?
No, learner drivers are not permitted to drive our vehicles at any time.
Can I rent on a provisional licence?
Yes, but certain criteria must be met please contact our office for details.
How am I assured of the vehicles condition?
All vehicles are photographed on collection and returned and are stored in your rental agreement. We encourage our customers also to photograph their vehicle on both arrival and departure also. On collection the rental agreement and condition report will be emailed to you.
Is the vehicle covered by insurance?

Does my travel Insurance cover me if I have an accident?
All insurers and their policies are different. Andy’s Auto Rentals can’t guarantee that your personal insurer will cover our rental vehicles in an accident. We suggest that you read your policy details or contact your insurance provider. If you cannot ascertain whether you are covered, we suggest that you reduce the liability.
What if I return the vehicle late?
If you need to return a vehicle late we give a one hour grace period then we charge an hourly rate for 3 hours then a full days payment is required. Please advise us immediately when you know you will be running late. This will enable us to organize an alternate vehicle for the next renter and avoid disruption to their schedule.
How many free kilometres do I get per day?
This information will be shown on your quote or reservation as some vehicles will differ. Please contact our staff if you have any further questions regarding kilometre allowances for specific vehicles.
Can I use another person's Credit Card to pay?
You can use another person’s credit card for the payment if they are prepared to become the main hirer of the vehicle, hold a valid current credit card and be present on arrival. Should the card holder not be able to attend the collection of the vehicle, they may be asked to come in prior to the booking date and pre-sign the agreement. Please speak to our Staff for further information regarding this. You will then be added to the contract as an additional driver.
Is there a security bond or holding deposit?
Depending on which liability option is taken and the age of the driver and what vehicle is being hired as to what amount is needed, to be debited on the customer’s credit card. This amount we be debited from the credit card and refunded back to the customers card 7 days after the return of the vehicle pending and charges outstanding charges if any. Once the refund has been processed an invoice will be emailed to the customer. Please note the refund may not appear immediately in your account as bank processing time differs from bank to bank. In most cases refunds are visible in your account within 2 business days from when the refund was processed security bond is required in the way of a pre-authorization to your credit card that is used as a form of protection whilst you are renting a vehicle. Please note that it is your bank that will hold the pre-authorisation and not Andy’s. In most cases, a pre-authorisation is released by your bank within 7 business days.
Do the "daily rates" vary and will they change if I call back to book?
Our rental rates are subject to availability and demand and do change regularly. We quote rates based on availability at the time of the quote. Once a reservation has been made we can confirm all fees and charges.
Can I extend the rental duration?
Extending the rental duration is possible at time of check out or during the rental itself. You will need to contact us to advise duration of the extension required and to arrange payment. The extension is subject to vehicle availability and extra payment being received.
Can I modify my reservation once it is confirmed?
Confirmed reservations can be altered however they are subject to availability. It may be necessary to alter the cost of the rental if dates, length of hire and/or vehicle category are amended. We may need to cancel the existing reservation and re-quote.
Can I get a quote without making a reservation?
Yes you may request a quote and check availability without making a reservation online or over the phone. You can have the quote emailed to you or you can proceed to making a reservation at that point if you desire.
Additional Drivers
The credit card holder (Primary Hirer) is listed on the contract free of charge. Additional drivers can be added to the contract for a small daily fee. Additional drivers must present their licence so they can be added to the contract. Warning – All drivers of the hire vehicle must be noted on the contract, otherwise the insurance can be voided.

We ask all customers to return fuel to the original starting level at commencement of hire. If the fuel level is not the same as pick up level a refuelling charge will apply. Fuel usage options are available, please ask our friendly staff at the time of rental.
