Australia’s most popular theme parks continually lure families, thrill seekers and the young at heart to the Gold Coast – and for good reason.
However, if you are taking a trip to the Gold Coast and the theme parks are on the agenda, there are a few factors to consider in order to be fully prepared for the holiday.
Despite being a major drawcard for visitors, the theme parks are not as central as you would think.
Dreamworld, WhiteWater World, Warner Bros Movie World, Wet ‘n’ Wild and Sea World are all located on the northern end of the Gold Coast.
To put this in perspective, travelling to Dreamworld from the Gold Coast Airport via public transport can take up to two hours.
Gold Coast Airport Car Hire
However, if you hire a car from the airport, you have the freedom and flexibility to explore the abundance of fun and adventure that the Gold Coast has to offer and reduce travel time (down to 35 minutes in this instance).
The distance between Gold Coast theme parks and popular accommodation hotspots – such as Coolangatta, Burleigh, Broadbeach and Surfers Paradise – is also a huge factor to consider, because you will most likely be going to and from your hotel to the different parks over the course of a few days.
Travelling between Broadbeach and Sea World, for example, can take up to an hour via tram and bus – compared to as little as 15 minutes at the wheel of your own hire car.
Gold Coast Holidays
Having a rental car from Andy’s for your Gold Coast holiday means you can create your own self-paced itinerary that includes experiencing the Coast’s renowned beaches, exploring the hinterland landscapes, and of course – indulging in theme park thrills.
So if you’re flying in to the airport, your best option is to hire a car and travel at your own pace – to free up more time to enjoy the rides and activities on offer.
